His publications include 172 research papers, 12 research monographs, 21 anthologies, 3 catalogues, 2 text books, 2 Guidebooks, and 189 Books' Reviews. Prof. Rana have two sons, Pravin, a World Literacy of Canada Manager, and Prashant, a Computer Software Engineer; his daughter-in-law Dr Jyoti is Lecturer in History of Art; his wife Manju 'Usha' known as 'Annapurna' takes care of all; the daughter Prabha is a painter.
